Established as a humble chapel under the St. Inez Parish in 1989, the Stella Maris community grew beautifully in spirit and numbers over the decades. Nestled right where the River Mandovi embraces the Arabian Sea, we proudly entrust our community to the Virgin Mary, Stella Maris (Star of the Sea). In a historic milestone on April 15, 2026, our beloved chapel was solemnly elevated to a full-fledged Parish, the 175th Parish of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, by His Eminence, Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, marking a new dawn of faith and fellowship for our 320+ parish families.

A Message From Our Parish Priest

Stella Maris Parish offers this website as a place of connection, information, and encouragement for our parishioners wherever they may live. It is not a substitute for personal contacts and the living bonds of parish life, but a support for them—especially in the digital environment that shapes how we communicate and learn.

As our parish name suggests, Stella Maris— “Star of the Sea”—points us to the right direction, especially in difficult times, helping us “arrive at the port” of a life guided by Mary, Mother of Christ.
